Laura Fratiglioni awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy

We are honored to celebrate an extraordinary recognition awarded to Laura Fratiglioni, former PI and founder of SNAC-K, for her outstanding contributions to dementia epidemiology.

On April 28th at the Italian Embassy in Stockholm, during the Italian Research Day in the World, Laura was awarded the Order of the Star of Italy (Ordine della Stella d’Italia)—a distinction granted by the President of the Italian Republic to individuals who promote international collaboration and scientific excellence . This recognition reflects decades of pioneering work advancing our understanding of dementia and shaping prevention strategies. Her research has not only transformed the field but has also strengthened collaboration between countries, disciplines, and generations of researchers. It is a privilege to witness and be part of this journey.

Congratulations, Laura—well deserved!
