On April 4 2025, we celebrated the fourth collaborative online seminar organized by SNAC in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (Socialdepartementet). Marie Bjuhr, specialist nurse within psychiatric care, presented her thesis work under the title “Being Active in Working Life at Older Ages” for an audience of around 15 participants. The overall aim of the thesis, which was based on SNAC data, was to examine factors associated with predictors and experiences involved with being active in working life after the expected retirement age, and the experiences of exiting working life before the expected retirement age. The results confirm the complexity regarding the predictors for being active in working life at older ages, and add knowledge regarding how health in overall life and staying active in or exiting from working life at older ages can be experienced from a subjective perspective.
